coins; bank notes; bills of exchange (paper money); travelers checks; jewels; and other precious or valuable items must be included in an insured priority mail international package in order for them to be mailed to recipients in Italy.
postage stamps for philatelic purposes are admitted in the first class international parcel service with certified mail service shipments, provided that the parcel bears a completed ps 2976 form and the recipient complies with Italian financial regulations.
remarks
- A package can be addressed to a postal address or a PO Box. A local phone number for the recipient must be provided when the item is addressed to a postal address and must be provided when the item is addressed to a PO Box.
- For Priority Mail international packages, a duplicate invoice is required for all business shipments regardless of value and all personal shipments valued at $300 or more. Invoices must be attached to the outside of the package or can be attached to the PS 2976-e form with the customs declaration.
- International First Class Mail and International First Class Parcel Services shipments may not contain taxable items.
- Shipments containing books must carry a PS Form 2976.
