How to Connect a Replacement AirPod

How to connect a spare AirPods

With your replacement AirPods in hand, you’ll need to review and make sure your “old” AirPod still isn’t is connected. This ensures that your Apple device won’t try to connect to an AirPod you no longer have. Here’s how you can connect a replacement AirPod:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap Bluetooth.
  3. Locate your AirPods in the device list s connected.
  4. Tap the i icon.
  5. Tap Forget This Device.
  6. From the pop-up menu, tap Forget Device.
  7. Tap the message again to confirm.
  8. Place both AirPods in the charging case.
  9. Open the lid and make sure the status light blinks amber.
  10. Hold down the setup button on the back of the case until the light starts blinking white.
  11. Unlock your iPhone or iPad and make sure you’re on the home screen.
  12. Make sure both AirPods are still in the case, and open the case lid.
  13. Tap Connect when prompted.
