getting free sunglasses is not a secret that is offered only to a few. If you do a little due diligence, you can take advantage of these freebies whenever possible.
You just have to be aware of the following techniques:
1. use your new client privileges
If you regularly order contact lenses or glasses, I’m sure you already have a favorite store to buy them from. That’s all very well, but if you’re looking for gifts, explore other stores and take advantage of their promotions to attract new customers, such as:
- buy 1, get 1: Buy your prescription glasses and then get another pair of glasses, contacts or sunglasses for free. For example, 20 20 opticians in the UK currently give away free sunglasses for every pair of glasses you buy.
- first pair free: some shops even give away a pair of glasses sunglasses or glasses completely free. others take on everything, while many allow you to pay shipping and handling fees.
- Discounts – New customers often receive discounts of up to 50% or more during their first buy. while the free stuff is best, high-quality yet inexpensive eyewear may be second best.
Keep in mind that these giveaways often have limitations, so read the fine print. they are also exclusive to new customers.
2. subscribe to sunglasses subscription boxes
If you’re a fan of the subscription box model or sunglasses in general, you’ll love exploring the world of subscription box sunglasses!
As you may have guessed, sunglass subscription box programs offer you different plans. once you sign up for a plan, the company will automatically mail your order to you each month.
Most of these providers require you to enter your card when signing up, so you will also be automatically charged each month.
However, keep in mind that not all companies do this. sometimes they offer other deals (reduced prices, discounts, etc.) instead, so you can get sunglasses for almost free.

For those of you who really want to collect as many free sunglasses as you can, I suggest you search for as many eyewear stores as you can find, join their newsletters, follow their social media platforms, and stay up to date with their promotions.

- a game of chance. sometimes companies will choose to draw prizes randomly. as such, anyone who signs up, submits an entry, or just likes a post can join the giveaway.
The problem with entering contests and sweepstakes is that you have to be active online.
Most companies announce these promotions by email a few days before the actual start of the event. If you don’t check your mail regularly, there is a big chance that you will miss out on joining such promotions.
5. explore clothing stores
In addition to eyewear and optician stores, you can also explore clothing and accessory stores when looking for free sunglasses.
in 2019, 5th & Baldwin gave away hundreds of super cool retro sunglasses to lucky people who were able to “buy” them. During this promotion, the company, famous for its 100% UV protected polarized sunglasses, simply replaced its polarized lenses with a basic UV lens to get the price low enough to give its customers a pair of sunglasses. free sun for just the cost of shipping.
It’s a pretty good deal, especially since all the fuss helped bring more people (and new customers) to the company.
6. use your vision insurance
If you have vision insurance, you know it’s usually a “use it or lose it” benefit. that is, if you don’t get an eye exam or buy glasses along with it, you won’t get it in cash and it won’t be added to the next year’s coverage.
so use it!
Even if you don’t wear prescription glasses or contacts, your insurance may cover protective sunglasses. Many opticians cover the frames and lenses of sunglasses through your insurance, even if they are not corrective.

As with any gift, you can’t be too choosy when you’re trying to get some free sunglasses shipped right to your home. In most cases, you have no control over the type, brand, or quantity of sunglasses you can get.
Sometimes, in order to receive free sunglasses, you must pay shipping and handling charges.
Getting free stuff is never that easy, but if you follow these methods, you’ll have a better chance of bringing home a new pair of sunglasses.
