Approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) – Philippines is required for items exceeding these limits.

Plants and similar items require sanitary and phytosanitary import authorizations and phytosanitary certificates from the Philippine Bureau of Plant Industry (National Plant Protection Organization). Philippine domestic law authorizes the removal or destruction of items that do not contain proper documentation.

  1. Commercial invoices having a taxable value of 3,000 pesos or more are subject to authentication by the Philippine Consulate and payment of a fee of u.s. $30
  2. Philippine postal authorities recommend that letters containing checks or other negotiable instruments be sent by certified mail.
  3. The following documents must accompany all postal items containing cremated human remains:
  • cremation certificate.
  • transport permit information.
  • death certificate/cause of death.
  • certificate/permit of quarantine.

The sender must place the documents in a clear plastic envelope (such as ps form 2976-e, cp 91 customs declaration envelope) and affix the envelope to the outside of the box with a “cremated human remains” label ” (as tag 139, cremated remains).
