samsung email app needs permission to access your gmail account after you enter your google account credentials. Without this, you will not be able to send, receive or delete emails in your gmail account using the samsung email app.
so you need to allow access if you want to use samsung email to access your gmail messages.
You can verify that you are using gmail on samsung email via the following method on a computer browser while logged in to your google account.

Users of the gmail app, meanwhile, believed their accounts were compromised. however, today, the issue has been fixed and samsung email can access gmail if needed with no problem.
