Creating a Hindi website is a great way to expand your reach among the millions of Indian internet users who prefer Hindi content. So, in this article, you will learn how to create a website in Hindi.
Domain and hosting setup
Our website cannot exist without a unique domain and hosting. The Domain is the identity of your website. People can type it into a browser and instantly go to your website. And the hosting is where all the information and files of your website are stored. It’s like a computer that sends your website information to people who are looking for it at any time from anywhere in the world.
There are many good hosting services such as Kinsta, Cloudways, Hostgator, WP Engine, A2 Hosting and Hostinger. But WordPress officially recommends Bluehost, SiteGround, and DreamHost on your website.
You are free to compare all these hosting options and choose the one that suits you best. But no matter which one you choose, the next steps will be the same.
The service will offer you multiple paid plans. Based on price, web space, and other features, choose the best plan for you.
On the next page, you will need to find and select the name of domain of your website. Finally, you will need to create a new account with the hosting provider with an existing email and a new password.
You will also need to fill in some personal information such as name, country, address, and phone number. Select the time period for which you want to purchase hosting and select or deselect additional services such as domain privacy and SEO features. And of course, your card information will be needed to make the payment.
After making the payment, you will be logged into the hosting provider control panel. Now different vendors have different panels with many different sidebar options. But you only have to worry about one: WordPress.
In WordPress, a subtab like Install and Manage will help you install WordPress. If you don’t have a WordPress account, you’ll need to create a new one with an existing email and a new username and password. Use a hard-to-guess username and password and keep them in your memory as they are essential for logging into your website’s admin panel in the future.
Your website is ready! Go to a new tab and find your domain and you can see your site.
To access your admin panel, simply add wp-admin to the URL and enter your username. administrator username and password.
Setting the default language and adding content
You will see that your website displays all content in English by default. To change this setting, go to Settings > General. Here, look for “Site Language Option”. Click on it and select “Hindi” from the dropdown menu. Then save the changes.
Your website will now display all elements in Hindi. You can even start adding Hindi content too. Also, you can simply type the content with a Hindi keyboard, which you can easily download.
