With so many creative, artistic and heritage blogs already out there, how do you make yours stand out? How do you keep people coming back for more and how do you increase visitor numbers and build a loyal following?

There are plenty of tips and tricks to getting your own creative blog up and running and thereby raising your profile and help you to win more business. Getting Started

Choosing a blogging platform is your first challenge. There are many free options, such as WordPress, Tumblr, TypePad, and Blogger. They all offer free design themes so you can customize your own blog, so it’s very easy to get started. And if you’re not sure how to use them? There are many online video tutorials that can be found on the web; for example, WordPress has its own list of lessons to help you get started.

Consider Integration

From an SEO standpoint, it pays to integrate your blog with your site existing website to create content and make search engines love it even more. After all, SEO (search engine optimization) is all about content. But if you can’t do this or can’t afford to hire a web developer to sort it out, start a free blog and be sure to include links to your main website or other links, for example your artistic portfolio.

Find a niche

When choosing a creative blog topic, try to find a niche. Make your blog about something very specific and you will please both the search engines and your readers. Try not to be too general and really focus on one specialized topic and stick with it. Find your own niche and go for it, just remember to stay on topic.

Just keep in mind that there are many reasons why people may not comment on your blog posts. It can be anything from not providing easy access to post a comment to writing about negative things that people don’t want to be a part of. Bottom line? Make comments easily accessible and write about things that get people talking positively. If people can interact on your blog, they’ll keep coming back for more.

Don’t Worry About Negativity

Occasionally you may get negative comments on your blog. Don’t let this discourage or scare you into giving up blogging. Any comments that you are not satisfied with may be removed or responded to positively. Despite what people say, you rarely face negativity, so don’t worry too much.
