How to Create a Website Easy Free Guide for Beginners

This free tutorial will show you how to build a professional-quality website with just a few clicks. This guide was designed for the absolute beginner, so no previous experience is required.

If you follow this tutorial, in about 1 hour you will have a professional-quality website, without having to pay thousands of dollars to a web designer.

    Step #3: Set up your website

    Once you’ve found a template that looks good, click on it and then click the “Preview” button on the bottom left to get a full preview.

    If everything looks good, go ahead and click the blue “Import Full Site” button. If you change your mind later, you can always come back to this step and select a different template.

    In the pop-up window, make sure the bottom four boxes are checked and click “Import”.

    If If you’re already doing some form of marketing for your business, then it’s also an opportunity to drive more people to your website, which helps build trust and ultimately leads to sales.

    This means add your website to things like business cards, brochures, print advertising, promotional items, billboards, and just about anything else.

    Build awareness on social media

    If you already have social media accounts for your business, then it’s a good idea to notify your followers that you’ve just launched your new website. You can even offer a promotional offer if they book an appointment or make a purchase through your site. This is a great way to help customers develop the habit of using your website.

    If you don’t already have social media accounts, you’ll at least want to create one on the big sites like Facebook, Twitter , and possibly Pinterest and Instagram. Start by asking your friends and current customers to follow you on social media. As you continue to offer frequent updates and promotions, you’ll grow your following and drive more traffic to your website.

    Optimize for search engine traffic

    Some Studies indicate that 93% of website traffic originates from search engines. Taking advantage of this huge source of traffic can lead to a huge influx of new customers. This process is called search engine optimization (SEO).

    Take a minute to think about what a potential customer might be looking for. For example, if you have a roofing company in Springfield, people might search for phrases like “best roofing company in Springfield.”

    Once you have some ideas for phrases, go to Google and get started. to enter them in the search box. You’ll see other phrases appear as suggestions as you type. Take note of this.

    Once you hit enter and do a Google search, you can scroll to the bottom of the search results page and find a section of related searches. Take note of any of these that make sense for your website.

    Once you have a list of phrases, it’s time to optimize your site so it starts showing up in search results. Keep in mind that this process won’t happen overnight, but by optimizing your site now, you’ll have the best chance in the weeks and months to come.

    The good news is that by using WordPress to create your site, you have already taken the first step to optimize for search engines. WordPress is structured in such a way that it is very search engine friendly.
