Gmail usernames must follow these rules:

There are 2 possible outcomes of the username availability verification. The username is either free to register or taken. However, your username might not be suitable for Gmail, with 3 possible reasons. Let”s take a look at all the possible result messages you might encounter:

Gmail username can only consist of alphanumerical characters. That is a-z and 0-9. No special characters are allowed.

Green result is a good result! The username you checked is most probably available for registration. Why most probably? During our testing, we”ve encountered a tiny amount of cases with a false positive result.
