1. ask your dentist
ok, my first advice is very simple: ask your dentist if they have any toothbrushes that they can give you for free. I also mentioned this tip in my toothpaste post.
You may not even have to actually ask for it. Some dentist offices actually hand out a bag containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, and even dental floss. but if your dentist doesn’t, ask politely.
I asked my dentist for some samples and he gave me some sensodyne toothpaste. It’s not just toothpaste that dentists give away either. They give away many different products, including toothbrushes. so the next time you’re in the dentist’s chair, ask if they have any free toothbrush samples they’d be willing to give you because they often do.
2. follow toothpaste brands on social media
Okay, my next tip is another simple one that can produce great results. Many toothpaste brands like Colgate and Oral-B have social media platforms where they post details of all sorts of great deals, including, you guessed it, freebies.
Whether it’s coupon codes for free products, contests, or giveaways, brands that make toothbrushes often post deals on their social media. so I recommend that you follow your favorite toothbrush brands on social media
That way, you can keep up with free offers and other great money-saving deals.

3. contact companies directly
Another really easy thing (see the pattern here?) you can do is contact companies directly.
There are many companies that will send you free material by mail if you request it.
Contact brands like colgate and sensodyne and ask if they’d be willing to send you a toothbrush for you to try.
The thing is, most brands want to attract new customers. even if a brand has to give something away, as long as it makes future sales and attracts new customers, it will do. And you can tap into this need for sales and new customers by contacting brands and asking for samples.
now, don’t just go and demand gifts. that just won’t work. instead, take the time to compliment the brand on their products and let them know you’d love to try more of their products. don’t just copy and paste the same application to brands. sure you can use a template (which is actually a great way to do it), but just make sure you adapt it to each brand you communicate with.
Most brands have a contact page on their site that you can use to get in touch.

4. free toothpaste samples for students
If you are an educator, you can apply for the Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures program. you will receive a colgate kit for your students that includes toothpaste and toothbrushes.
It is important to note that the program is not always open to new applicants. but it’s certainly worth coming back from time to time to see. To register, you will need to use an official school email address.

5. be a product tester
Some companies that make toothbrushes allow you to become a product tester.
Philips, for example, has a product testing program that you can check out here. Since Philips makes many different products, there is no guarantee that the product you test is actually a toothbrush. however, it is a great starting point.
Another one you can try is the product testing group, which you can sign up for here. You can get Amazon products for free or at deep discounts. there are so many products you can try across multiple categories, and this could include a free toothbrush or other hygiene and dental care products like toothpaste.
6. sign up to receive free sample boxes by mail
Another tip I have that works really well for free dental supplies is to sign up for gift boxes. there are a few sites out there that will send boxes of free stuff right to your door. While the products you’ll receive will vary from box to box, you can get products from brands like Colgate and Oral-B.
You may need to provide feedback on these products, but hey, you’re getting free stuff, so it’s not a big deal.
There are many sites that claim to offer freebies. although not all of them are great. We are also wary of scams. Make sure you don’t provide sensitive information like your credit card information or your social security number. you know, just use your common sense.

7. look for deals and promotions in store and online
The next tip I have is one I’ve used to get free toothbrushes and it’s another really easy one. Look for deals and promotions in store and online.
This could include:
- buy one get one free: I’ve seen deals, especially in pharmacies or supermarkets, where I can buy one toothbrush and get the other one for free. so I get two for the price of one!
- a free toothbrush with the purchase of toothpaste: I previously received a free toothbrush included with the toothpaste I planned to buy from everyone modes. I love those deals!
- a free gift with purchase: I’ve also seen deals where you get a $5 coupon when you spend $40. chances are you’ve seen those deals yourself or some variant of that sort of thing. sometimes it’s a 10% savings when you spend $50. so keep an eye out for any kind of offer or promotion where you can get money or something for free!
so how do you keep up with these kinds of promotions from stores like cvs, walmart and anywhere else toothbrushes are sold?
well, here are some simple tricks:
- Follow stores on social media.
- Subscribe to store newsletters/email lists.
- Be sure to watch the weekly ad (flipp is an excellent app to keep up to date with store announcements and other offers and promotions).
