shopping online/mail order

Where do I start to shop, shop or order by mail?

Start Here: Buy plants online for online ordering (mail order) or to view availability at any of our nurseries. if the plant is not available, you cannot order it. Excuse me, but if we don’t have the plant, how can we sell it to you?

I want to print a list of plants available online for mail order, how can I do this?

hours/holidays

If the week contains a holiday, we will check to make sure there is at least one day of shipping allowance. if there is not, you will receive your plants the next full available week. if the holiday is in the middle of the week (July 4th), we may skip the week. We try to get the plants to you as soon as possible, but sunbathing in tuscon or snow in denver is not something our plants need to experience.

where do we mail order?

we only ship to arizona, california, new mexico, nevada, oregon, utah and washington. we’ve had a hard time shipping to the midwest or further east because the plants get mangled and baked.

shipping costs

handling: $18 per order. this charge is for picking, bagging, packing plants, and driving the 25 miles up.

shipping: per plant, by weight and depending on your shipping location. plants weigh between 2 and 5 pounds each, each species has its own assigned weight. We have changed our shopping cart to use UPS to automatically calculate the shipping cost for each order. there is a limitation with the software that we haven’t figured out (chimpanzees with sticks), around 20 plants, ups costs start to go down, not significant until you order around 30 plants, we readjust (usually lower) increases charges in about 25 plants. at 50 floors the charges are ridiculously low ($110 instead of about $75 for Angels) and the software won’t even work above 80 floors. so order what you can (if available) and email the actual list or place a second order and we’ll combine them and email you a new total.the total cost per plant for shipping and handling is usually under $2/plant when ordering more than 20 plants.

note: in the shopping cart, the handling charge of $18 is listed within the shipping charge. for example:

taxes

There is only sales tax if you are in California. sales tax is ours, currently 8.25%.

payments?

visa, mastercard or mail a check. To send a check by mail use the online order method, but print the order before entering your card number and send it with a check to Kindergarten Las Pilitas, 3232 Las Pilitas Rd. santa margarita, 93453. online ordering goes wrong e-commerce, secure credit card drop box, wonderful for small businesses with retail stores. mal’s allows us to safely order by mail. When you use the cart, it is moved to a secure server at Mal’s and your card information is locked so we can retrieve it upon shipment. We do not save card information once the shipment is complete. the mail operation is difficult for us as we have to take a separate inventory to remove your plants from inventory. when you run a ‘normal’ order through the system, it removes it from inventory. inventory management is our abyss.

when do we ship?

We ship on Mondays and Tuesdays, to avoid potential delays that could cause your plants to continue shipping over the weekend. We send a tracking number to your email address at the time of shipment. Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento and most of California ship overnight. so if you’re in Los Angeles, if you order before Friday at 4:00 p.m. m., you should receive the plants before Wednesday, barring any delays.

how do we ship?

we ship via united parcel service. gallon-sized plants are removed from the pot, the root ball is bagged, the plants are boxed and shipped. we do not ship bare root. plants weigh 2-4 pounds each and shipping costs are based on the weight of the plant.

We only ship one gallon plants.

all I want to know is how do I order?
