Congratulations, you’ve got your hands on the Nanoleaf Elements and now it’s time to upgrade your smart home (and home decor) and set it up. If this is your first time setting up, don’t worry, you’re in the right place to start. We’ll always be here to help you and that’s why we created this quick setup guide!
I’ll walk you through all the ins and outs of setting up Nanoleaf Elements so you can get to the fun part much faster. . We’ll go over:
- Designing the Element Layout
- Installing Elements
- Pairing for iOS
- Pairing for Android
- Control your items
Before we go into more detail about configuring Essentials, let’s first take a look at what’s inside the boxso we can get started:
Step 1: Design your design
Now it’s time to design your unique design, the most fun part in my opinion! It’s important to plan your layout on a table before mounting it and connecting it to a power source to make sure everything is okay. To make sure your design fits your space, measure the width and height of the wall before installing the panels. For design inspiration, check out our Instagram to see what other Nanoleaf owners are creating or you can explore the Nanoleaf Element Library.
Design Wizard design
Explore different panel designs with the Design Wizard and preview them in your room using the AR feature. Download the Nanoleaf mobile app and open the Design Wizard to get started.
Flex Linkers
Expand the possibilities of your Nanoleaf elements even further! Bend corners, mount panels to angled surfaces, maybe even create something a little radical. Each connector bends 360 degrees, available from the Nanoleaf Shop.
Step 2: Assembling the panels
So you’ve finally settled on a design , now we can start assembling your Elements panels, which is where the real magic begins!
1. Prepare your surface
Nanoleaf elements should only be installed indoors and on a flat surface that can support the weight of the panels. Be sure to clean your surface so it is free of dust, moisture, and oil.
PRO TIP: The included mounting tape is NOT recommended for textured, popcorn, and porous surfaces (ie. wallpaper or brick walls) or for use on ceilings of any texture. If you plan on using your panels on surfaces like these, screw them down. See how here.
2. Set up your first panel
Designate a panel in your setup as the home panel. Attach all necessary connectors before attaching any panels to the wall.
