Clergy visits:

Due to covid 19, clergy visits are temporarily unavailable at this time.

requirements to visit as a member of the clergy…

  • To schedule your visit, please call (801) 778-6702, at least 24 hours before the time you wish to visit.
  • you must be the head of the congregation; i.e. bishop, pastor, priest, stake president, etc.
  • You must bring proof of your clergy status to the visit.
  • You will be allowed one visit per two week period. (this visit will not count against the inmate’s visiting limit)

or, if you wish, you can schedule a visit through the normal visit process. in this case, the visit will count as one of the inmate’s assigned visits.

Religious Access: Weber County Jail provides a variety of religious services. inmates may attend any religious gathering available for their housing unit. We also provide various religious materials for in-cell study/reading.

inmate property

During incarceration, the inmate is issued clothing, bedding, and personal hygiene items. linen is usually changed twice a week and bedding is changed once a week.

medical staff are on duty 24 hours a day.

inmate library

A library is available for inmates. if an inmate’s classification prohibits visiting this library, books are brought to him. Due to covid 19, we are currently not accepting donated books at this time.

inmate trust account

Friends and family members may deposit money into the inmate’s trust account, also known as the inmate’s “books.” this money can be deposited at the kiosk in the jail lobby during reception hours in cash or by credit card. Lobby hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. m. to 9:00 p.m. m. every day, except holidays and Sundays, and is only open until 5:00 p.m. m. Wednesdays.

Processing fees will apply to all inmate deposits.

commissioner

Inmates may purchase approved commissary items once a week using money in their inmate trust account. approved items may include personal hygiene items, candy, snacks, and other miscellaneous items.

inmate mail

inmates may receive mail. mail must come through the usa uu. postal service and will not be accepted at the lobby window. Only white, pre-stamped or measured postcards will be accepted. mail sent in envelopes or with photographs or postage stamps will be returned. Letters with photos cannot be sent.

legal access

Incarcerated people have the right to legal access. a private attorney may be retained or a public defender may be appointed by the court, if eligible, prior to arraignment.

phones

There are phones in each housing unit for inmates to make outgoing debit or prepaid phone calls. incoming calls are not accepted. inmates may also transfer funds from their commissary account to make phone calls.

Emails are accepted for inmates. these can be sent to securustech.online/#/login. applicable fees apply.

recreation

Board games and board games are available in appropriately rated housing units. outdoor recreation is available for each housing unit.

inmate grievance system

Inmates can use a grievance system while incarcerated to file grievances that concern them directly.

disciplinary inmate

the weber county jail has rules that inmates must follow. if an inmate violates facility rules, he or she can be charged with the violation. An inmate disciplinary hearing officer (IDHO) adjudicates these complaints in an administrative due process hearing. if the inmate is found guilty, the idho may impose a sanction on the inmate, which may include loss of visits, loss of commissary, punitive isolation, and/or payment of restitution.

weber county jail contracts with an outside vendor for inmate meals.

internal workers

When an inmate is appropriately classified, they may request the privilege of working within the facility. inmates may receive a small hourly stipend. Some examples of available jobs are: Culinary Workers, Librarian, Custodial Services, and Laundry Services.
