Anyone having a problem while typing in Gmail. ? My mouse and keyboard work perfectly well in other accounts and documents and while typing this. I just upgraded to Mojave and thought that was the problem but it only happens when I type in Gmail.Thanks for any input…

Thanks for reply… Yes, Chrome is my default browser but have tried with Safari and Firefox…same thingOn pressing key nothing happens for few secs and of course by that time I have pressed again so get letters twice , sometimes three times depending on how annoyed I felt When composing new email takes a few secs to load. I have no problem typing in other accts and on this page. The whole gmail thing is sluggishI have cleared history in browsers and caches on computer.In searching google I see others complaining but don”t see any answer to problem.
Are you signed into Chrome? What and how did you clear your browser history? Chrome itself could have become corrupted….download a fresh copy then uninstall and reinstall. I”ve never liked using Gmail. If you”re signed into chrome and use a 3rd party software to clear the cache and junk files it will not work. It won”t clear your history. You have to either do it in chrome itself or sign out of chrome and run the software. Have you tried using a email client….email software like Outlook (part of MS Office), Thunderbird (which I just started using)?

Thanks for replyChrome cache and history have been cleared more than once since this started. I have been using gmail for years and never had any problems with it before. Yes I do have Outlook acct which was my old Hotmail account but prefer gmail for everyday use and I do have Thunderbird which I seldom use. I prefer to keep email with attachments out of my computer. Gmail plays just about every attachment going these days.I had thought about re installing a fresh copy of chrome but I do get the same results with Safari and Firefox so was thinking not the chrome browser. Just had an email from a friend who is having the same problem…also a Mac user, so I will let him do some investigating and see what he comes up with.
I posted to quick with out thoroughly reading your post. That just leaves Gmail as the culprit. I”d put in a support ticket with Google.

Workaround: type the email into a text type/Office program then copy and paste it into gmail.If the text/Office program works without any hiccups, this is a faster way to go than trying to get gmail to speed up.One day I forwarded an email in gmail. It took at least 20 – 30 minutes of me staring at processing at the bottom of the screen. I got annoyed and moved to another device. Eventually it was sent. I have no idea what happened on the day to just forwarding an email to someone I regularly forward things to.
It seems there has been trouble with Gmail since the Mac upgrade to Mojave and they are “working around it”…….There was no problem with Sierra so I may go back to that version. Nothing special fo me in Mojave upgrade.Of course, well known fact that Apple and Google do not get along so could take some time for the “fix”
