It seems that gmail users are having problems with automatic email filtering. we’re seeing a significant number of reports saying that emails that are supposed to arrive in the promotions folder are giving way to the main gmail folder.
Of course, this is a major problem for most gmail users, as we all know that a large number of promotional emails arrive every day. Many of the affected users turn to social media platforms to share this issue.
We have not found an answer from google or gmail about this problem. however, we are actively trying to find more information on the matter, and will update this story as valuable developments occur.

A quick look at the user reviews on the google play store listing for the gmail app indicates that the problem might have started yesterday. now, since the last update to the app was on November 28, it’s entirely possible that a server-side change broke email filtering.
At this time, we have no information on whether or not the issue also affects the gmail ios app.
