How to Mark All Gmail Messages As Read

You have two options: use the search bar or the select all option.

using the search bar

1. Go to the gmail website and sign in, if necessary.

2. Type label:inbox is:unread in the search bar at the top of the screen.

3. press enter. then you will see all your unread emails appear.

4. click the downward carrot next to the selection checkbox at the top of the email list and press everyone.

5. If it appears, click select all conversations that match the results in the banner at the top of the screen.

6. Click the three dots on the far right of the menu above the selected emails and choose mark as read.

using the ‘select all’ option

Important: You can use this method from your main inbox, or you can go to a specific folder to mark everything as read only from that folder.

1. press the carrot down next to the selection box on the top toolbar and select all strong> .

2. select the mark as read icon on the top toolbar. it looks like an open envelope.

quick tip: you can also do this with only selected emails, instead of applying the read tag to all emails. For that, select the emails one by one, or select all in the current page, and then hit the mark as read icon at the top.
