pivo was born after the developers realized they didn’t know how to order a beer while traveling around prague. they discovered it and took it one step further. The concept is simple: learn how to order a beer in 59 different languages. The easy-to-navigate app includes proper phonetic pronunciation guidance and videos from native speakers to ensure you say it correctly, even after a few rounds.

3. Tavour
tavour, an interesting twist on the tried and true “beer of the month” club, has received rave reviews from craft beer fans due to the rarity and scarcity of its selections. Instead of bundling you with a beer you’re not particularly interested in, tavour curates popular new styles from the most popular breweries and lets you choose which beers you’d like shipped and which beers you don’t. It’s all set up in the company’s sleek mobile app and it only takes a few taps and swipes to get the beers you want.

4. beer advocate
With the beeradvocate app, you can search for beer styles, beer lists, news, places and events, and share them with your friends, and more. is an extension of the ba community.
5. elixir
If you’re wondering about the vibe or drink list of a certain place, elixr can help you keep the pub crawl going. This app could be described as the cry of the beverage industry, with an added focus on the social aspect of drinking. With a thriving user base, the information is generally up-to-date, and by checking into a single-drink establishment with the easy-to-use interface, you can show off your latest whale to admirers.

6. Untappd
What started as a beeradvocate mobile clone has grown into one of the biggest beer apps out there. users check into breweries and rate the beers they drink on a scale of 1 to 5, all while checking out what people around the world are drinking or (with location settings turned on) what people in their area are drinking. Perhaps the only true beer social networking site, untappd is a must for any craft beer aficionado.

7. Drizly
If you’ve ever needed more beer but just can’t get it back, drizly might be for you. drizly will connect you with a local partner store, who will take your order and deliver it to your door in an hour or less. Although the service looks very promising, coverage is still limited to about 20 major cities, so it’s worth checking for availability.

8. any abv beer
If you guessed that this app is designed to tell you the alcohol content of a beer, congratulations! you just earned a beer. But before you drink it, why not check it out with this app, which has abv values for over 13,000 beers from around the world? okay, the internet would serve this purpose too, but hey, it’s a free app.

9. beer?!
You’ll either love or hate this app, which sends someone a message with the quixotically punctuated question, “Beer?!” it’s great for when you’d rather log into an app and send a six-character notification to a friend, lover, or potential senate candidate than type it out. despite the many existential crises that can arise from receiving such a loaded question, the problem with this app is that you can only say “beer?!”, and it doesn’t include a follow-up response to discover the time and place. other than that, is it great?!

10. in pairs
Do you often get nervous about craft beer stings who know exactly what foods to pair with their beers? well now with the pairwise app you too can become a beer pairing master. just enter the dish or beer you’re trying to match, include a few descriptors and flavor profiles, and voila! you have a personalized pairing for any beer or dish you are about to consume.

11. brewmaster 2
Built to be your assistant brewer, iBrewMaster 2 is re-vamped to provide even more support in your journey towards the perfect beer. Create a batch of beer from the built-in recipe database, track its progress or make changes and let your e-brew companion automatically calculate specific original and final gravities, alcohol content, IBU’s, color and calories. You can also upload your recipes to share with other users. This is about as complete of a brewing app as you’ll find.

12. BeerMenus
Like Taphunter, this is a fairly comprehensive tap list app that also branches out to include the inventory of select liquor stores and liquor stores throughout the United States. type in the name of the beer you’re looking for and the beer menus will provide you with places near you that currently offer that beer. Or, if you know where you’re going, just find the restaurant, bar, or brewery you’re going to and check out the menu.

13. bjcp styles
Those studying for their bjcp certification, or anyone else looking for a detailed and portable manual on bjcp beer styles, will find this free app very useful. has the 2008 and 2015 style guidelines mapped out for easy access.
