The option to change “Sync Frequency” is located under Settings, within the sub-heading “Data Usage”. I see this option available for 4 of my email accounts (Hotmail, Yahoo, and Sympatico), but it does not appear in either of my Gmail accounts. When you add a new email account, you are asked what type of account it will be . For example Gmail, Outlook, Exchange, etc. If you select Gmail, I believe that you are automatically setting up for push notifications, rather than pulling the notifications. As a result, auto sync is not required, and the option is not visible. I suppose that you could add your Google account under one of the other categories, and you will be asked for the type of server (POP3 or IMAP) along with the server addresses, port numbers, etc. After that you could specify a sync interval.

pretty sure the options were there before, long long time ago as I did set up that way, and even in the link from Bell from my OP, it is there too. Unfortunately, now it”s not there anymore. And it”s bugging me.

If you are using the gmil app for gmail, then it should be just simply PUSH. There is no sync interval.Like the other poster said, the interval only appears when you add a POP3 or IMAP.

Except for the main Google account attached to the phone for play store, contacts, calendar, Gmail, I manually set up all my other Gmail accounts as IMAP accounts, and then set the sync frequency to hourly.I really wish they had more options in the frequency greater then hourly. Every 12, 24, or higher would have been nice. Hourly is too frequent that it burns through my battery for my less used email accounts.

konsensei When you say your email has been slow to come in, are you actively using your phone or has it been sitting on your desk for a little while?Quality info on this problem seems to be a little elusive. I”ve come across better before, but here”s a reddit thread I found on short notice.
